Cas Dowden is a restaurant-trained
chef with twelve years of experience under the
tutelage of Bar Harbor chefs Lenny DeMuro (Poor
Boy’s Gourmet) and George Demas (George’s
Restaurant). Growing up in Chicago and living
for extended periods in New York City and San
Francisco have had a great influence on Cas' cooking
style, obvious in the hints of worldly flavors
that come through in her dishes. Always reading
food magazines and new cookbooks, Cas believes
that it is important to follow the latest cooking
trends to keep menus creative and exciting. She
pays particular attention to the sophisticated
palates of people in the Mount Desert Island area,
who are used to having many options for fine cuisine.
Cas has been busy over the past four years catering
large and small functions and preparing in-home
meals as a personal chef. She would love to cater
your next special event, whether it is a seafood
buffet for 300 guests or birthday picnic for two.
